Day 18: Name a Drama you dropped, and why?

30 Day Asian Drama Challenge

Day 18: Name a Drama you dropped, and why?

Sunshine Angel

I had such high hopes for Sunshine Angel. Yes, the plot is a little overused but I expected it to at least entertain me with the lines. I thought Rainie Yang, whom I adore, (and Fahrenheit appearance) would be sufficient for me. I watched the first two episodes and I was bored. Any drama that allows you to casually pause it to do other stuff every few minutes is not worth mooning over.

I had such expectations I shouldn’t have. It needed major scene and line revisions. However, I noticed a lot of people liking this one. It just goes to show that we all have different cups of tea.

30 Day Asian Drama Challenge

I’ve already started my Asian Drama Challenge on tumblr and I’m on my fifth day so I’ll be doing five to catch up.

Day 1: First Drama you watched?
The Legendary Siblings (Amazing Twins)

This was released in 1999 and I watched it when I was in high school (ancient period). I had my first taste of Taiwanese drama and Jimmy Lin. I’m not sure about the specific era but definitely not in a 20th century setting. The story’s about twin brothers separated at birth who both grew up as martial artists and later became friends. It’s hard to remember details from  something I’ve watched more than a decade ago. Not overly impressive but it had a cute cast and pretty funny lines.

Day 2: Your first Japanese Drama? Hana Yori Dango

I completed both seasons of this drama in 2009. I realize that it’s a favorite by a lot of people but it didn’t really stick to me. Sue me. I really, really like Inoue Mao as Makino though.

Day 3: Your first Korean Drama? Lovers in Paris

Lovers in Paris

It’s not my favorite but I like it. I adore the soundtrack and had a major crush on Lee Dong-gun.

Day 4: Your first Taiwanese Drama? Meteor Garden

Since I already mentioned The Legendary Siblings,I’ll go for the second one which I completed and adored. Meteor Garden. Except for the disastrous season 2,this drama started my love affair with Asian entertainment and culture.I’m getting nostalgic just thinking about it. This drama wasn’t perfect but it gave me the perfect feels. Meteor Garden will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Day 5: Your all time favorite Asian Drama?
I absolutely CANNOT answer this one.I have favorites for each and there’s just no one ”all time favorite Asian Drama”.I will talk about these dramas for several days starting tomorrow.
